  The objective of this project is to offer our keyboard students an opportunity to perform for a professor from a four-year institution. This would aid in retention by giving the student stimulation for pursuing a four-year degree and a contact for the university.

  Engage students in learning activities that reflect real world challenges and opportunities, Involve current college level and dual credit students, build enrollment by retaining current and attracting new students. Motivate current and potential culinary students and educate them on culinary competitions and learning opportunities at SJCN. Excite local HS culinary students and outreach to community with media exposure of event.

  Provide outreach initiatives to potential students by hosting a district wide completers ceremony at SJC for those who completed GED certification exam through SJC testing centers on all 3 campuses, awarding bookstore vouchers or books to the 6 individuals that score highest averages at each campus, target recruitment of potential students in SJCD that completed GED certification through SJC GED testing centers.
